Youth Recreation Baseball

The Paola Recreation Commission is happy to offer youth baseball programs for boys in grades 1st-9th Grade (7 to 15 years old).  Divisions are based on the current (2023-2024) school year.  The recreational leagues offered provide the participants the opportunity to learn and play the game in a fun, positive and developmental atmosphere.  Emphasis will be on teaching fundamental skills, teamwork, fair play and sportsmanship.  Teams will be coached by parent volunteers with coaches selecting their practice days and times.  All teams may practice up to two times per week before the first scheduled games begin.  Once games start, practices for all teams will be minimal and based on field availability as games will take precedence over practices.  For the 3rd-4th Grade (10U), 5th-6th Grade (12U) and 7th-9th Grade (15U) divisions, there will be some travel required for games.

Each participant is required to have their own glove, batting helmet, bat(s), pants, socks and shoes.  The PRC will provide each participant with a uniform shirt and hat.  The PRC will provide teams with practice equipment (baseballs, catchers gear, etc.)

* Starting in 2024, all youth baseball and softball leagues will be grade based instead of age based.  We are doing this to make it easier for registration and to be consistent with how we register participants for all our youth sports programs.*
