Youth Recreation Flag Football
The Paola Recreation Commission is happy to offer a fall flag football program for kids in grades K to 6th Grade. The youth flag football program is a recreational based program that provides participants the opportunity to learn and play the game in a fun, positive and developmental atmosphere. Emphasis will be on teaching fundamental skills, teamwork, fair play and sportsmanship.
Teams may practice up to two times per week before games begin. Practice days and times are decided by the volunteer coaches at the coaches meeting that is held prior to the start of the season. Once games begin, practices may be minimal and based on field availability. Games will be played on Saturday mornings and Thursday evenings on the turf fields at Wallace Park. All 3rd Grade & older divisions will play an end of season, single-elimination tournament after the conclusion of the regular season.
Participants are REQUIRED to wear a mouthpiece while playing. The PRC will provide each participant with a uniform shirt. The PRC will provide teams with practice equipment (footballs, flags, cones, etc.)
The flag football program is dependent on volunteer coaches. All teams will be coached by volunteer coaches with those coaches getting the opportunity to select their practice days/times. If interested in coaching, please contact Andrew Hall, Assistant/Sports Director, at ahallprc@outlook.com
