Youth Sports Team Formation Procedures
  • Team formation is done with as much fairness and equality as possible.  It is the goal of the PRC to have balanced teams as much as possible at all levels of play.
  • Teams will be formed at the coaches meeting and practice days/times will be selected as well.
    • For all 8 & Under (2nd Grade & Below) sport leagues, the PRC staff will form the teams based on the following criteria: Age/Grade, Gender, Experience.
    • For all 9 & Older (3rd Grade & Up) sport leagues, a coaches draft procedure will be utilized to pick teams using the following criteria: Age/Grade, Gender, Experience, and Skill Level.
      • PRC staff will oversee the draft process and have the authority to move players from teams in order to ensure balanced teams.
  • Head Coach’s kids will automatically be put on their team along with one assistant coach’s kid.
    • Each coach is allowed ONE (1) assistant coach
    • Spots will only be automatic for up to TWO (2) coaches per team.
  • Only PRC Staff have authority to switch or move players from teams.  Coaches do not have the authority to switch a player to a different team, regardless of the reason to do so.
  • Coaches are volunteers and have no authority to guarantee roster positions on a team, certain practice days/times or take registration.
    • All registrations, team rosters, practice days and times are created through the PRC office staff only.
  • All coaches, Head & Assistant(s), are subject to a background check completed by the PRC.
  • All coaches are required to attend the coaches training meeting with PRC staff prior to the start of each season.
  • Once teams are formed, coaches will get their rosters and will contact players to let them know of their team and practice times.
